Stormfront Post
After searching through the archives of Stormfront.org’s archives for this week’s blog post, I found a reoccurring theme. The theme of whites being oppressed, the thought of multiculturalism equaling the genocide of the pure white race, and the idea that hate crimes are only hate crimes if they are committed by a white person did not surprise me after reading many of the posts on this site. So many of the people who post on stormfromt are adamant that they are being victimized. With most of the posters, there is a general notion that many of these crimes committed against people of color are not newsworthy, and that some are ever warranted. One specific example of this is posts that relate how the James Byrd case received much attention in the media, yet crimes against whites go largely unreported in popular media. For this assignment I will focus on two different posts on stormfront, and how they relate to hate crimes, as well as the notions that many of the stormfront users hold.
The first post, which is titled “white teens may get charged with hate crime”, tells the news report of multiple teenagers in Jackson Mississippi who loaded up their pickup truck, and headed out in order to act on their hate. The teens allegedly approached James Craig Anderson, a 49-year-old auto plant worker who was standing near his car in a parking lot, and began to beat him while shouting racial slurs. Witnesses reported that the group screamed epithets including “White power”. The teens then proceeded to get back into the pickup truck, and then ran Anderson over with their F-250, killing him instantly. The person who posted this entry on stormfront then refuted this article with the argument that There was another similar incident where a mob consisting of black perpetrators teamed up on a white subject and beat the white teen to death while saying that “that cracka got beat good”. The poster seemed furious about the fact that CNN had no coverage of the instance in which the white teen was killed, and said that in Europe and the West, African Americans kill whites on a daily basis. This poster then went on a rant about the 96% Jew owned and controlled media and how CNN even targeted a white person in a mob of 4,000 black looters, just to put a negative spin on the white race.
In the other post that I researched, the poster reviewed a news story that involved a white Bronx man being beaten and robbed on the Number 4 train by a group of black males. The man said that he was targeted by the men for being white, and that other riders on the train egged on the mob. The news reported that police were searching for the assailants, but that they were not being targeted for a hate crime. Others who posted on this entry shared their fury about how a white man could be targeted for his skin color, but the assailants would not be charged with hate rimes. One user posted a poll that stated the following:
Are race relations getting worse in NYC?
Yes, violence like this is getting more common, especially on the trains. 61%
No, this is an isolated incident; race relations are pretty good in NYC. 9%
They can't get worse because they're already terrible. 24%
I don't know. 7%
I read far more than two entries on stormfront for this article, and I have come to find that there is a widespread outrage among the stormfront users that feel that whites are being excluded from the hate crime statute, when the alleged crime is committed against them. This next video was posted by one user, and I feel that it sort of sums up how many of the posters feel about the hate crime statutes currently.
